Roy Keane, having been sent off following a clattering tackle on Marc
Overmars on Wednesday night, will be suspended for the visit of Aston Villa
on May 1. The fixture, which could prove pivotal in the race for the League
title, will be United's penultimate home match of the season, and comes just
before three away games in a row, at Liverpool, Middlesbrough and Blackburn.

Subject: Sheff Wed Preview MANCHESTER UNITED v SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY United Team News Reserve goalkeeper Raimond van der Gouw is on standby with Peter Schmeichel receiving treatment on a slight groin strain. Schmeichel was injured during Wednesday's FA Cup semi-final replay win over Arsenal, although he is expected to be fit enough to face Juventus in next Wednesday's Champions' Cup showdown in Turin. But Alex Ferguson may not be ready to risk it as United turn to Premiership action following their Cup break. Ryan Giggs is also winning his race to be ready for the Juventus game after an injury scare left him on crutches. The United star was hurt late in Wednesday's replay and his foot immobilised to prevent further damage. Now it seems the injury is not as serious as first anticipated and, while he has little chance of playing today, Ferguson is confident he will be ready to fly out to Italy next week. Swedish winger Jesper Blomqvist, who started Wednesday's game ahead of Giggs, is also having treatment after taking a knock against Arsenal. Team (from): Van der Gouw or Schmeichel, G Neville, Stam, Johnsen, P Neville, Beckham, Keane, Butt, Scholes, Cole, Yorke, Solskjaer, Blomqvist, Sheringham, Irwin, Greening, Curtis, Culkin. The United View ''It's nice to win the semi-final and have Wembley in May, but I'm not even thinking about that. We have a very important game against Sheffield Wednesday and that is now a bigger game than the semi-final. That's the only game we're looking forward to and we're just taking each game as it comes. I know that's an old cliche, but it's how we look at things.'' - Roy Keane Wednesday Team NewsYugoslav international Dejan Stefanovic has made himself available again. The defender had decided not to play for the Owls in the wake of the Kosovo crisis and with friends and family living in and around Belgrade, but he played in the reserves in midweek and comes into contention in an otherwise injury and suspension-free squad. Team (from): Srnicek, Atherton, Jonk, Newsome, Walker, Carbone, Booth, Sanetti, Cobian, Humphreys, Briscoe, Stefanovic, Emerson, Hinchcliffe, Rudi, Alexandersson, Sonner, Cresswell, Scott, Pressman. The Wednesday View ''We're still not safe and Manchester United is possibly one of the worst places to try to pick up some points. But we can take heart by the fact that they're playing a lot of important games at the moment and I'm hoping we can use it to our advantage. I wouldn't say ours is the least important in their eyes, but I would certainly say that at this moment in time they would forfeit a result against us to go through in the Champions Cup. Just maybe there's the odd game where they won't put as much importance on it. So I'm confident we can go there and get something, although whoever pulls a United shirt on, Alex Ferguson will be expecting 110% from them.'' - Danny Wilson THE STATS Last season: Man Utd 6 Sheff Wed 1, Sheff Wed 2 Man Utd 0; Last five League matches: Man Utd W W W W D, Sheff Wed L L L L W; Top scorers: Dwight Yorke (Man Utd) 26; Richard Cresswell (Sheff Wed) 19; Match odds: H 1-4 A 8-1 D 4-1; Ref: N Barry (Scunthorpe)

Subject: Reflections...by Boston RED Boston Red I am still too overcome with emotion. Having just downloaded the AVI from the web, I feel the lump in my throat everytime I play it back (30 times and counting). Without tempting fate too much, I thought before the game that if we lost, our season would be over. That Giggs goal meant as much to me as Sparky's against Oldham when we went on to complete the double. Although we haven't won anything yet, my biggest fear was an FA Cup hangover which carried on into the league and (gulp) next Wednesday's match. Also, looking at the AVI, after Giggs' goal, you'll see a streak of white, starting from the top-right of the screen, zipping towards the bottom-left. I think it was Beckham, and I have never seen him move so fast. It looks like Yorke had a twenty metre start on Becks, but I bet Becks got to Giggs first. Beckham loves this club, and there's no way he'll leave. Being one of the unfortunates, I couldn't escape work so had to make do with the Real Audio commentry. As I leapt out of my chair when Giggs did his magic stuff, all the Americans eyed me suspiciously. For those that don't know, the commentry is extremely biased to ManU (reminding me of the Tom Tyrell (sp?) days), and Stapleton showed which out of the two clubs he played for who he truely loves. He screamed with delight when Giggsy did it. Nice one Frank. So currently, I'm nervously awaiting to see if my source comes up with a tape of the game. If not, I'll be back on the list begging. Don't erase the game just yet, please... (Sean? do you have a copy just in case?) And to show just how much this game means, my mum called me last night (9.30pm my time, 2.30am Greater Manchester Time). At first I thought something bad was up. Turns out she was completely s**t- faced after watching the game in the Gorse Hill with my Uncle and a few other family members. She went on and on about Schmikes for 1/2 an hour. So in honour of me mum, he was my man of the match. I think I'll watch that Giggs goal again, Paul

Subject: 365 ARSENAL HERO BACKS MAN U FOR THE TITLE By Stuart Mannion ARSENAL'S all-time record goal scorer Ian Wright has dealt his former teammates an unexpected blow as the race for the Premiership hots up by tipping arch-rivals Manchester United to take the title. United go into today's home game against Sheffield Wednesday with a one-point lead over Arsenal and Chelsea having played one fewer match, and the veteran West Ham striker expects the Manchester outfit to cruise to their second championship in three years and fifth since the Premier League was founded. "It's Manchester United all the way for me," Wright told Football365. "I just can't see where the challenge is going to come from. Even their subs bench is littered with internationals, players who would be guaranteed a place in any other Premiership side and the quality they have out on the pitch is frightening. They've got brilliant players in every position." With players of the calibre of Ryan Giggs, David Beckham, Dwight Yorke and Peter Schmeichel in the side, Wright's choice as United's most important player will surely surprise everyone, though: "Jaap Stam. He's the main reason why United have been so tight at the back this season. People wrote a load of rubbish about him at the start of the campaign, saying he was too slow to deal with the Premiership and all the rest of it, but he's shut everyone up with his performances. He's a great defender." It's no surprise, however, who Wright pinpoints as the real driving force behind the Red Devils' assault on a unique and incredible treble of Premiership, FA Cup and European Cup. He said: "Alex Ferguson. As far as I'm concerned he's the best manager out there. His record speaks for itself and I'm a huge fan. He always gets the best out of his players on the pitch and how many times do you see United have a bad day at the office? Not very often. That's down to one man, the manager." The idea that United might be stretching themselves too thin shooting for three major trophies also leaves Wright cold. "To say the European Cup is a distraction is utter rubbish," he claimed. "In fact I think the better they do, the further they progress, the stronger their challenge for the Premiership will become. Arsenal managed to win the title last season despite having plenty of injuries and suspensions, but the difference this time around is that United are a stronger side. I hate to say it for my old teammates' sake, but Fergie's boys won't slip up this time."
